Derek Rayment started his association with Barometers, joining a family manufacturing business in Clerkenwell, London, the centre for such firms since the 18th century, in 1960.
Apart from making new instruments, old and damaged barometers
were brought in for repair and restoration, and after ten or so years of learning the Trade, Derek started his own Antique Barometer business in 1972, specialising in both restoration and sales.
In 1979 Derek and Tina got together, and very soon Tina was a most important part of the partnership, and soon acquired the expert knowledge and above all flair, which is so necessary.
Since then the business has grown to be acknowledged as the Specialist Business in Antique Barometers, and now trades world wide.
